Architecture and flow diagrams for engineering teams
Engineering diagrams have three enemies: they get lost, they go stale, and they are tedious to draw. ExcaliClaw is built around fixing all three.
One searchable place for every diagram
System architecture, sequence sketches, incident timelines and database schemas all live in collections you can search by name. New teammates find the diagram instead of asking for it, and nothing depends on one person's laptop.
Draw together while you design
Share a drawing with the team as editors and design the change together on a call: everyone sees the live cursors and the same canvas. For people outside the team, a read-only public link is enough to review it.
Generate diagrams from the code
- Flow and architecture diagrams from nodes and edges, with optional hand-drawn icons for technologies such as React, Redis or AWS.
- ER diagrams from your tables, fields and relationships, with primary and foreign keys marked.
- Sticky notes for open questions and decisions, added by you or by the agent.
Your AI assistant (Claude, Cursor, VS Code with Copilot Chat and others) does this through the MCP server, so a diagram can be regenerated after a refactor with a single request. Layout is computed on the server, so the result is readable without nudging shapes by hand.
A shared component library
Save the shapes your team reuses, such as a service box or a database cylinder, in your library. Agents can list and reuse those exact components, which keeps diagrams visually consistent.
Export when you need it elsewhere
Agents can export any drawing as PNG or SVG to paste into a pull request or a document, and you can back up your whole workspace as a JSON file at any time.
